Lung excercise machine : Hi has anyone... - Asthma Community ...
Lung excercise machine
I used a device, given to me by physiotherapist in hospital, to improve my lung function but that was after a serious operation (I ended up in Intensive Care and was on morphine for quite a while). It certainly helped my respiratory muscles to get back to normal functioning levels eventually.
No idea if it would help with asthma.
Thank you for your response
I use powerbreathe. Before latest asthma flare up by using it daily I managed to reduce fostair dose by half and it helped with running too.
I have an incentive spirometer (the one where you breathe in and have to get balls to rise and stay up in tubes), PEP system for my nebuliser which creates positive pressure in the airways/lungs and opens things up for mucociliary clearance, and also a flutter which i hate to use lol. The flutter is a pipe thing with a big ball bearing in it that rattles as you blow into it and it vibrates the air going into your lungs to break up mucus. I'm not sure what you mean by lung exerciser but those are the 3 things I use which help me. I have more going on than just asthma though. I don't know if they help asthma in itself. Having less mucus in my lungs helps mine.
Hi thank you I have just been diagnosed with copd so yes got asthma as well great will purchase one thank you
