Hiya.

I've been on Prednisolone since 1992, just recently I saw my consultant for my Aspergillosis. I have recently had a referral to the Endocrinologist. I'm baffled to why this could be. I want to pick your brains, you knowledgeable lot. Any ideas?.............please! C.x

Hi

They may want to check out your adrenal glands, just to see what they’re doing. If you’ve been on pred that long, they probably want to check for Addison’s/adrenal insufficiency, especially if there was any talk of reducing your dose or if you reported any symptoms of it.

There may be other things that they check (thyroid etc) however as I don’t have any experience of aspergillosis I wouldn’t know 😕

Good luck and I hope things work out well for you! X

Thanks ever so much for that. There was a mention of glands. As I didn't see the consultation letter I guess that's what it must be. C.x
