Eosinophilic asthma blues

Guy's Hospital Specialist Asthma clinic have decided that the reason I've been feeling so bad is because I have a chest infection on top of the asthma, which has been rumbling on for the best part of a year. Antiobiotics (Doxycyclone) not working, so more sputum tests. I spent the morning in bed because I felt so exhausted and brain-fogged. I'm 66, and don't want to think this is the rest of my life. Walked to the docs this afternoon, stopping about a dozen times, but don't feel that I got any help, except to wait for the results of the sputum test.

Hi

Sorry to hear this 😕

The positive thing to take away from it is that they’re blaming it all on an infection - as bad as it sounds it does mean once they’ve found the right antibiotic it *should* clear up, then hopefully your asthma will calm down too!

I often find that the GP isn’t that helpful with my asthma however they have acknowledge that my asthma is more complex than most, and I have a lot of knowledge about it. Usually they bow down to my demands (more pred please 😝) or send me to hospital (even when I don’t think I need it 🙄😅)

Good luck with the results and hopefully you can return to the ‘old’ you soon enough! X
