Asthma uncontrolled

Recently the use of asthma releaving inhalers has changed but my asthma hasn’t.

I’m finding it increasingly difficult to obtain a repeat prescription before 30 days of the last and the stress only makes things worse.

I am waiting for breathing tests, due in Dec, but until then I have to use online services to purchase inhalers.

How wrong is this?

Does your surgery use something like SystmOne for repeats? If so, they can cause problems as they calculate when repeats should be due, & surgery staff can be unwilling to override it.

I had a similar problem with Symbicort in that it always ran out a couple of days before I could get & collect a prescription, but my GP changed it for me so that I got 2 instead of 1 without altering the renewal dates.

Having said that, needing a recovery inhaler (if that's what you're meaning) every 30 days is probably setting off a red flag for them, as that's a lot. It might be that you need to discuss your treatment regime with someone & as part of that, get the prescription renewals properly configured.

I would contact your practice manager. They can make things happen that the lower admin cannot. You can also ring asthma uk they maybe able to advise something.
