That dreadful feeling when you wake up and realise you’re sick 😷. The question is do I book urgent GP appt today, or wait til I’m at Brompton tomorrow? Do I let Brompton know as meant to start mepo tomorrow?
I have severe asthma and have already upped my pred to 40mg. I don’t think it’s a bacterial infection (usually feels different) so probs won’t get antibiotics, and I’m already on the max amount of drugs the GP can give and I have a home neb if needed.
Current symptoms are;
‘Deep’ cough
coughing up small amounts of yellow gunk (sorry)
SoB/tightness sitting up (little better when lying down)
Difficulty breathing in and out (especially in and on deep breathes)
No temperature (very rarely get on tho so)
10 vent raises PF from 290 to 350 (/630)
Muscle aches (esp neck and upper back)
Don’t actually feel that bad tho - I can still function so 🤷♀️
So do I wait til tomorrow or see my GP today? And should I let Brompton know?
Thanks x

I would let Brompton know now as from what I have seen on here they may not want to give you the mepo like that, especially the first one. They may also advise re what to do. Seems like GP may not be able to do much!
Obviously others who are actually on mepo will know more but I think telling Brompton should be the first step and you can see what they say. Hope you feel better soon - rubbish timing!
Thanks I’ve left Brompton a message and sent them an email so 🤞 they’ll get back to me soon! Yes not impressed with my bodies timing 😒! I also know I’m on a tightrope atm and that if I get any worse I’ll have to go somewhere (tho toss up between GP and hosp tbh 😅) x
So emailed Brompton and made a GP appt (ask knew they’d want me to get one). Dry slow at getting response through. My GP has now sent me to hospital 🙄 - guessing I won’t get my mepo tomorrow 😒. Oh well 🤞🏻 they won’t decide that they need to keep me in!
Just to update anyone interested I ended up Thursday emailing Brompton and having a 5 min GP appt where they sent me straight to hospital, do not pass go, do not collect £200 😂
Hospital gave me nebs and hydrocortisone and doxy for the chest infection, ummed and ahhed and sent me home mainly due to lack of beds and a good abg. Phone consultation with GP on Friday and I got sent back to hospital for nebs and a mag bag.
Stayed overnight and had an allergic reaction early this morning (who knows what to🤷♀️😅) causing hives and swollen lips (nose and tongue also started to go) - iv hydrocortisone, iv antihistamines and more nebs. Another neb on waking and now wheeze free and PF in green zone (470/630).
Saw the doc and I’m getting released today (tho come back if it worsens again 🙄). Hopefully this will hold and I won’t have to yo-yo back in again! Currently waiting for an epipen as somehow I’ve lost mine which I always keep in my bag 🤷♀️ and my discharge letter.
Brompton cancelled my mepo injection and it’s rebooked for the 9th so 🤞🏻!
