Eosinophyllic asthma

I have eosinophyllic asthma, I take Flutiform and Ciclesonide (ALvesco) twice a day. Every morning when I wake up, my throat and the roof of my mouth are very clogged up, - wondering if anyone has anything they take at night to help with this. Tried Montelukast but it disturbed my sleep.

Hi sorry to hear you are not sleeping. I am not sleeping either (as I write this at 05:00). I did not like Alvesco (clogged my throat) and Avamys gave me sores in mouth and nose. I take Montelukast as well and am considering dropping it but in answer to your question, I take amitriptyline. I was reluctant at first because it is an anti-depressant but I only take one tablet of 5mg at night. I will sleep now for max of 4 hours which is better than the usual tossing and turning all night. However as you know “one size does not fit all” so have a chat to your GP / Consultant / Asthma Nurse for advice. Eventually if you are persistent you will find the answer so don’t give up asking, asking, asking and more importantly be kind to yourself. My thoughts are with you 🤗 x
