Kidney pain.

The scan showed I had a cyst on my left kidney. My right kidney has always been the problem from having Pyemylitius when I was a baby. The cyst now, which the scan detected was on my left kidney where the pain has been. I am now on antibiotics called Nitrofurantoin 100MG 4 times a day which when I rang the surgery the nurse put me on them over the phone. I did not see a doctor.

My ? Is can the cyst get bigger that is why I'm having this pain and infection now?

The left kidney has always been working more to compensate for the right one.

Do you think I should ask to have another scan to see if the cyst has grown ?

Thank you.

I can't possibly offer any medical advice not having had any training but I can say that if you are at all worried then you should see a doctor.

No idea as I have no experience of kidney cysts. Sounds like you need to speak to someone with experience in that area.
