Hi, not alone. After a 2 year break from dealing with asthma, (pregnancy and nursing) I've suddenly started to take my fostair again along with antihistamines. I feel I'm in need of some steriods to calm things down so off to docs for me tomorrow. Can't stand this weather much longer!

It's not coughing as such which is affecting me but I can't breathe in this humid air and can only move at a snails pace. x

You are certainly not alone. I have a wheeze in my chest (Asthma )and a chest infection plus hay fever which I have never had before. So bad, steroids 8 a day, steroids up the nose, antibiotics!!! This heat has really got asthmatics this year. I have really never been so bad. Hope you feel better soon. 🙂

I have suffered my first ever hospital visit due to an asthma attack. I have had a chest infection which was dismissed by hospital and GP as viral or hay fever, despite a gurgling and tightening in my chest. The minor illnesses nurse st my surgery gave me antibiotics and sent me for a chest X-ray. Thanks to a 111 assessment which sent me to A&E, I was thoroughly examined by an excellent team of nurses, doctor and consultant, who feared a blood clot in the lung, and diagnosed bacterial pneumonia due to untreated infection! I am on the mend but still have pain in one side. A combination of heat and poor medical care, but I am 64 so perhaps that is why?!

No you are not alone. Wheezy, sneezy and a good juicy cough ! And when everyone is saying how great the weather is ! Oh and exzema has reappeared on my hands. Feel like I'm in the wrong body or I'm on the wrong planet. Haven't felt this bad since the 70's when we had a run of hot summers. Hope this weather breaks soon for all us wheezy folk. xxx

I totally agree with all your comments. I hate this hot weather and can't wait until it breaks. I will never moan about snow and rain again as I much prefer that to this heat!

Hi, you are not at all alone.

I have not suffered with my Asthma for 7/8 years, Drs even took me off of inhalers, removed the repeat and no longer asked for a yearly review, until 3 weeks ago i came down extremely wheezy, short of breath which is effecting my talking and a horrid cough which i put down to summer cold or chest infection until i went Dr's 2 weeks ago who told me it was mt Asthma and put me on 6 Oral Steroids a day for 5 days and my blue inhaler every 3-4 hours and rest so i had a week off work - i was soo gutted it was back, i still am gutted. Any ways 1 week after the steroids i am still coughing so bad i am heaving and short breathed to the point i am struggling to speak thankfully no Wheez - Back at Drs tonight as family think i may need a neb :(

Hope your feeling ok!

I’m really struggling! Just returned from a sporty holiday - 4 odd hours of exercise a day in a hot and sunny climat. Come back and developed an persistent irritating cough. Gave in and went to the docs on Wednesday, got steroids and strong antihistamines. Apparently it’s really bad Hayfever! I’ve never been this bad. This week I can walk to the end of the road and am out of breath.... a complete contrast to last week. Thankfully the nerds have just started to kick in. Hoping to have a good nights sleep tonight and being horizontal!!!
