Hi - this is the worst time of year for my asthma. I am following my asthma plan muddling along, but just getting so tired from feels like constant symptoms. I am doing as little as I can get off with, but with 4 kids this is a busy time of year with lots of extra outdoor things that I wouldn’t like to let my kids down over like sports days and football matches. Today was very busy and I got caught out with breathlessness and dizzyness and nearly fell off the pavement into traffic. I also scratched my car clipping my gate at home. I just feel like I am constantly making mistakes/dropping stuff. How do other people cope with the relentless tiredness? Hope everyone is as well as possible xxx

Tired and allergic
Hi Emily, Im falling asleep every afternoon at the moment, I just can't stay awake!!
I'm sorry you feel so sick and I completely understand. My allergies are just terrible right now and I've had to go to hospital twice in the last 2 weeks for breathing treatments and steroids. I'm exhausted and can't sleep because my chest is so tight and I'm so short of breath.
It's kind of funny that so many people love summer so much personally I absolutely hate it because I can never breath!
It really sucks doesn’t it! I’ve just spent the last week in Lanzarote where there’s hardly any pollen which has been absolute bliss - but has also made returning a bit of a shock to the system! X
A low pollen holiday is a great idea. I spend as much time as I can at the seaside. For me that is best for my breathing. Hope you feel better soon xxx
I can highly recommend the low pollen holiday!
Coming home at the height of hayfever season less so haha, my peak flow has drifted down to only just over 50% from being at my best so looks like it’s time to up my steroids again!
Hope you’re coping ok x
It's hard managing asthma and allergies especially with children.
Be as informed as you can about managing asthma AND managing allergies. I see you use an air purifier and from experince that helps. For sleeping at night keep your bedroom allergy free. If you open windows in bedroom during the day pollen may be on bedding. It can help to have a shower before you got to bed to make sure again that you don't take pollen with you especially if you have been out. Make sure seals in windows don't need replacing - my husband did ours a couple of years ago and it did help. If you have windows open then out air purifier on an hour or two before you go to bed. Shake pillows off. If you can't have a shower at least brush your hair well and wash your face. It is difficult to manage but it does help to keep 'load' down. I find wearing a personal ioniser round my neck does help when I'm outside.
I can empathise with that feeling tired from allergies feeling!
Me too - I'm exhausted! Summer's not much fun for us is it? I try to pace myself and accept I can't overdo it when the pollen's high. I know this is easier said than done when you have kids though.
Are you taking fenofexadine, by the way? My hayfever has improved since I've been on it.
Hi - I’m on fexofenadine too. It is the best antihistamine I’ve tried. (I had such a sore head with it for first few weeks but they wore off)
Stay as well as possible xxx
It is good, isn’t it - so much better than the over the counter ones. I hope you feel better too. My chest is pretty tight - putting off going to bed as I know I won’t sleep - good old asthma!
