Possible signs of a chest infection

I have had sore lungs the last couple of days, short of breath and a bit of a cough. Should I go to the dr’s just now. I haven’t been coughing anything like green or yellow phlegm at that moment, but I am always scared to leave it incase it is developing into a chest infection.

If you’re worried I’d get it checked out. I ended up at out of hours the other night even though I felt ok (I had asthma symptoms and wasn’t sleeping great and was worried it would develop into a chest infection) and the nurse told me that she doesn’t like taking risks with asthmatics

I have difficult asthma. I've had a wee bit of a cough & been a bit more breathless the last couple of days.

If you’re worried at all I’d make an appointment to see a GP. If you’re really worried contact an OOH doctor

Ok, thanks. I just hate going if its nothing. Feels like I've not been away from the Drs in the last couple of months. X

Yea but sometimes it takes a bit of time to get over an infection or to get settled on medication or whatever. If this is normal for you then leave it but honestly if you’re worried that’s what doctors are there for 🤷🏻‍♀️

Do you have an asthma action plan which you can step up if symptoms are worse? There is nothing doctors can do to prevent an infection, but you can help to manage asthma symptoms. If your breathing is difficult in spite of this then I would get it checked to ensure there is no lung infection. Hope you feel better soon.
