That's brilliant for the OP.

I now have acupuncture fairly regularly and find it helps recovery from asthma flare-ups.

To answer your point about if it works for colds (and obviously this is just one example!); I went for acupuncture last Wednesday evening and that morning had started with a bad cold (had streaming nose, stuffy head etc.) and was given 'needle points' and moxa to help ease the cold symptoms. I'm very impressed with the results (so far, the cold hasn't gone to my chest and I felt better much quicker than when I normally get a cold).

Tried this for hayfever some years ago as it had cured a colleague's daughter, but didn't work for me; acupuncturist was genuinely surprised and disappointed. Guess this might be worth a try for other conditions as it is impossible to predict in advance whether it will work or not for particular individuals.

I am studying BSc in Traditional Chinese Medicine & Acupuncture and I am currently undertaking my final year dissertation, I have chosen to conduct a literature review of the efficacy of Acupuncture on Chronic Asthma in Adults. The results are promising so far, from my own experience Acupuncture rocks for treating allergic asthma!
