Hi having a low immune system will cause your body to have low antibodiesxxx

Hi Louise, I had something similar. My chest consultant found that I was low on antibodies for some of the bugs which cause chest infections. He didn't explain why that would be but did say that overall my immune system was OK. I had vaccinations for the bugs in question and when they tested me again my antibodies had responded. I did find that despite lots of nasty bugs around this winter I have only had one chest infection and that was quite mild so I assume my boosted anitbodies are doing the trick. Hope that helps.

This is not a straight forward question. In normal healthy lungs the lungs is constantly able to clear foreign bodies from it. When the lungs become unhealthy as in asthma the ability to clear foreign bodies become reduced. This can lead to the lungs becoming more prone to an infection.

Some infections are caused by bacterial films which can come into existence because the bacteria which cause the infection was not removed by normal health lung action.

I leave it to you to investigate this further.
