Distrupted sleep.

After my latest course of prenisolone started 17 days ago and finished day 6. My body has got into the habit of waking up at 3-4 am. Great for peak flow meter reading the lowest one but not great for me. I have tried herbal sleep tablets and use the same routine every night. Have woke up before then a few times after falling asleep. Last night I was coughing. Seem to wake up and be very awake which lasts an hour. Tried staying in bed trying not to distrube my husband who is snoring next to me. Ended up downstairs on the futon with an audio book A street cat called bob. Actually worked in sending me back to sleep. The author has a slow and unchanging voice better than a lullaby. Any tips as this is getting me down both physically and mentally. I am suspecting a bladder infection too is playing it's part. However that could be my I miimicinga bladder iinfection will need to check that out y too.

What you are doing already is as good as anything I can think of. It's infuriating isn't it? You want to get to sleep, you know you need to get to sleep, but you just can't. Stressing about it doesn't help, so having that 'stressing' disrupted by thinking about something else (such as listening to an audio tape or reading a book - which is what I do) can do the trick.

Good news although I woke up last night at same hour got back to sleep. I was very tired though went to bed really late. This was due to having to take my daughter to A &E with burns. She is fine and so glad to be a trained first aider all that adrenaline made me shake though used inhaler now fully appreciate how your asthma can be affected by emotions. One tired mum but so thankful for the nhs.

Sorry to hear about your daughter, hope she's feeling OK.

But it's great news that you managed to get to get a pretty decent night's sleep.
