So i was diagnosed with asthma a couple of days ago and been given a steroid inhaler and ventolin.
I was quite surprised tbh because it didn't seem to be that bad to me, but the nurse said it was pretty obvious. She did say it was unusual that I got morning symptoms - is it unusual???

From my own personal experience morning symptoms are common with asthmatics. I know my cough is certainly bad in the mornings and my peak flow is down before I take my inhalers.
No problem, feel free to ask if you have any other questions and people will try and answer them if they can. Yeah inhalers can take a bit of getting used to but ultimately they benefit us.
Let me know how you get on with the inhalers. I'm OK with the Ventolin, but corticosteroids give me bad nights, tiredness, dizziness and nausea, so I've given them up. Having said that, my sister-in-law has been on the same CS inhaler for 20 years with no problem at all!
Like you, I didn't realise I had asthma till this year after pestering my GP to deal with 6 years of continuous winter colds. Trying antihistamines now, though they make me tired even when they say they're not supposed to! Guess I'm particularly sensitive to medication - hopefully you're not and can get the full benefits.
