Anyone like me?

Hi All, this is only my second post (I'm new... ) But is there anyone like me? I have recently been diagnosed with post viral asthma. I am on the orange inhaler ( low dose due to being sensitive to med) this morning I woke and sounded like a one man band! A little squeak in my nose, then when I breathe in to completely fill my lungs I get a little squeak at the end, when I breath out fully at the end of the breath I purr like a cat??? I swear I heard a squeak in my ear! Doesn't help when my dog looks at me like I have got her toy 😳, I've only been on the inhaler for 3 1/2 weeks. I am getting to the point where I'm checking my Pf all the time and if it's lower than usual getting a bit anxious, I don't have an asthma nuse as yet and I have so many questions as feeling totally bewildered and scared.

Hi. Firsty get to your GP and get registered with an asthma nurse. Mine is my life line. There at the end of the phone for support and advice. Separate appt system to GP so much easier to get apt with too (this is how my surgery works so hope yours does too) the sounds are not unusual and are you breathing through the trapped mucus. Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated this will help loosen the phlegm and bring it up. Don't be alone , keep posting here (I only found this a week ago and it's helped me no end. I've been an asthmatic for over 30 yrs) and do all the research you can on line. Everyone's asthma is different. The important bit for you is to find out what triggers it for you and what works for you. Breathe as deep as you can and don't be afraid to ask your health professionals for help on a daily basis if necessary it's what they're there for. They can't help with what you don't tell them.

Sorry to waffle on. You take care and get well soon. I hope this has helped you feel less alone and scarred
