Hi all
Just wondering if anyone is or has been treated ath the complex asthma clinic. My local Resp team feel it now time to be refered. What happens there and has it been beneficial.
thank you in advance

I was treated at Glenfield Leicester at their complex asthma clinic on my first visit it was just a consultation after that I also had lots of respiratory tests and spent the day there Having this done it was a long day lots of going between different clinics. My outcome was to be put on xolair injections this meant monthly visits to the hospital for about a year until my treatment could be transferred to my local hospital. The injections have really changed my life. I now have them done at my local hospital which is much more convenient. Just be prepared for lots of tests spirometry and this type of thing. Good luck I hope they can sort you out just put up with everything they need to do nothing was too unpleasant.
I have attended a similar clinic a few years ago. Although we made no changes to my treatment for different reasons it was reassuring to me & the team caring for me that we had the right diagnosis and treatment plan.
I would look on it favorably
Good luck
If it is anything like the Cambridge one that I go to, it will be very similar to what they do at the Resp Clinic. More emphasis on allergies. You are likely to have more extensive skin prick allergy tests, and the usual Spirometry tests.
Thank you everyone fingers crossed I get sorted
