Yes I have gotten that too. I think the meds can cause those sort of side effects especially Ventolin if you need to take high doses quickly for relief (makes me shake too).

I know since I've been poorly with my asthma I have been very tachycardic at times. Coughing can also increase your heart rate because the effort required to cough and if you are doing a lot of it then that will probably influence it too.

I'm still relatively new to all of this as haven't needed meds for a longtime until recently and I'm very new to the site, but if you find it is affecting you then maybe you should seek advice from your GP about it, just to make sure everything's okay

Thanks for replying. Yeah I'm gonna have to do. Feel like I've run a marathon. Just thought I was getting better as well wasn't sure if it's all the meds or constant coughing although it did ease a Lil the coughing. Thanks X

It could be a combination of the two. I hope your GP can help you, as its awful especially when you say you have been feeling better.

Lets know how it goes

I really hope your GP can help.

Hi Shezxx yes those bronchodilators tend to speed but it shouldn't last, you feel your heart racing for a few minutes then it settles. Go to the GP or the nurse and have your blood pressure taken for a start. You could phone the Asthma UK nurse for advice on Monday.

Take care xxx

I often get that when I have taken my salbutamol inhaler.  It is not unusual.  If you get this continually or are really very worried about it then call your Doc or asthma nurse or an asthma UK nurse to talk things through
