Anyone here with Asthma but also neuro symptoms? I have both and there seems to be an overlap so thought I would ask (:

PS - I've got FND or functional neuro disorder.

Thanks for sharing. It sounds like a difficult mix. Do you have B12 injections?

Yes, I do. It sucks having these different hurdles, but most days, I see the positives. :) How are you doing? I'm very newly diagnosed FND, and I will be honest, I'm finding it a difficult diagnosis to come to terms with.

Having trouble replying tonight but yes I was just the same. Took me years but am at peace now all other avenues explored. Do you have some support? FND group here is good. And on Facebook. I live near Dr Stone so hope will get referral to him or his team soon. Been under general neuro.

Hi, I have a plethora of different symptoms.... probably the best way of describing FND is to look at neurosymptoms.org but also have asthma and multiple skin and immune issues.

Many of the symptoms of FND I see are the same as Low Thyroid and B12 deficiency and I know Low thyroid and B12 Deficiency (immune issues ?) often gets over looked by Doctors, just wondered if you might also have these issues too Rachh8.

No I've been tested multiple times for these and everything else before we all agreed it was FND. Took me many years before I would accept that but I've been ill 5 and a half years now and I've been down every which way. Besides which I take a good B complex every single day as well as it's good for the brain. Thanks for thinking of me though.

Like I said Drs. are good at missing Hypothyroidism and B12 Deficency, many in my family were overlooked/missed and would still be ill.  taking a good B complex can mean nothing.

I am reading between your lines and it sounds so much the same as I read every day on Thyroid Uk and the PAS forums here on Health Unlocked. I myself have low thyroid and had low B12 too, also vitamin D and low ferritin. Only Vit D was diagnosed, but then was given too low a dose. I sort the other two myself.

Drs are known to say your Thyroid or B12 Tests are 'Normal' when they are not Normal.

Do not accept Normal bloods if you have presenting symptoms of low thyroid and B12 Deficiency. Check out all the symptoms they are the same as  FND.

Take a look at both Thyroid Uk and PAS forum (for B12 Deficiency) here on Health Unlocked. I may be completely wrong so do apologise, but your post jumped out at me Rachh8.

Ps. Also Vitmin D3 is good for helping asthma. Hubby no longer needs his preventer inhaler.

vitamindcouncil.com for safe up to date doses.

Hi I already take vitamin D. Like I say as investigated all the avenues myself over the years. I have even treated myself for thyroid problems outwith the doctors test results just in case. I guess when we live with a crippling condition for a long time we will try all the avenues or at least we tried to but thanks anyway and I'm glad that you found the answers you needed. I'm really wondering about other people here and whether they have found the same connections. I'm also part of many other forums who discuss all these things as well guess we all try similar routes (:
