I have found that Intal helps me a lot. I take 20 mg a day. The doctor suggested I try 40. The easiest and cheapest way to get that would be to get the Intal spincaps and the spinhaler. I cannot find the spinhaler anywhere on any website. Does anybody know where I can find one? Does anybody have one they can sell me?

There have been threads on Intal and spinhalers in this forum; a number of us were on it as children.

There used to be Intal (sodium chromoglycate) and IntalCo (sodium chromoglycate and isoprenaline). As far as I am aware neither is available now. The latter medication, which I was on for around eighteen years, was the more effective of the two and it combined a preventer and a reliever. Intal was still available in the mid 1990s, but I'm not sure that it is any more. I don't know when IntalCo was discontinued.

The spinhaler (to my mind one of the best and easiest inhalers to use) are, as far as I know, also no longer available. It's a shame these were ever discontinued, and I wish the engineers who are responsible for designing inhalers would take another look at them.

Sorry I can't be of more help.

Having seen where you are based I ought to point out that the above comment applies to the UK. I had no idea at Intal was at still available in the States. But I think the spinhalers have been discontinued, and I think the same is true of IntalCo.

Hi there, yes dear old Intal! It was and still is my favourite reliever, Intal Orange that is. My spinhailer still works fine after probably 30 years! There seem to be mixed reasons for why they stopped supplying it. online research shows that theFDA still allow its use. Perhaps the newer drugs were more profitable for the industry? I heard it said that some people found the spinhailer hard to use, but I think that this was overstated, as it was so easy to use. I've only seen Intal yellow for sale on line. I have a very small and dwindling supply of capsuals. They were out of date around1996 but they still work as well as ever! So much for use by dates!! I hope that you manage to track down a vintage spinhailer.

All the best,

Gino
