Hi,
Has anybody had a slow release steroid injection for asthma treatment?
Hi,
Has anybody had a slow release steroid injection for asthma treatment?
Sorry no I just take steroid inhalers 2 puffs twice a day, but I am sure someone will be along who has and will be able to help ♥
Had it 30 years ago when reacting very badly to the pollen season. Not nice,
but then switched to oral. Which been on ever since. Dosage between 5mg and 80mg. Beware long term side effects. Skin thinning. Easy bruising and breaking skin. Osteoporosis, get prevention meds, and, type 2 diabetes. Plus weight gain.
Very achey arm, feeling muscles cramp up, restless. Had muscles cramp up on high levels of oral, as well, 50 mg plus, plus restlessness, not able to relax, or sleep well.
I've been on 40mg oral for 10 days, coming down, by stages to maintenance dose of 5mg.
Why does GP suggest injected prednisone?
Thanks for your reply How long did the side effects last for after the injection ?i am under asthma clinic , they said that sometimes when oral prednisone doesn't make much difference, the slow release injections can help. And also -they have a new injection launching next year called mepolizumab and the criteria for it is that I need to take steroids for a while and they help so they need to check if I am eligible for this injection
Hi there
I had this about 28 years ago and it was then called Kenalog
There was a fuss about the drug about ten years ago and I am not sure how widely it is now used but I had it a few times, I think it was before I started taking Prednisolone more regularly.
Sorry but as it was so long ago I cannot remember the side effects but I know there was something that went wrong
I am about to go on them
I have astma and c.o.p.d I also have high bp
