Ventolin vs Bricanyl and spacer use

Hi all, just looking for any thoughts from you lovely people. I have severe asthma and for years been on Bricanyl, Seretide 500, Uniphylin, Singulair and combivent nebuliser. I have been fairly well controlled over the last few years but have been going through a bad flare up for the last couple of months. I had a review with my asthma nurse yesterday who was very thorough and spent loads of time with me - unusual :) she has changed my bricanyl to ventolin through a spacer and my Seretide through the spacer also. Has anyone had experience that this change helps? Also what is the difference between ventolin and bricanyl?

Thanks in advance xx
