I presume you're only recently disgnosed? I'm also mainly cough variant and controlled by Qvar and my reliever is Airomir

In the early days you really need to learn what your triggers are so that you can avoid / control your exposure to them.

i'm very much exercise-induced but also triggered by colds / smoke etc

If you know your triggers and you know you have to be exposed to them sometimes taking your reliever beforehand can help (as is recommended before exercise)

Once you are fully controlled you should be able to have cough-free days i can go ages feeling really well (except when i go running)

By the way - welcome to the forum :-)
