My BP goes mad when I get asthma. It's normally well controlled with tablets though. High BP, rapid pulse, higher rate of respiration are all signs of your oxygen levels being lower than they should be. Not surprising if you are having an attack!

James.

i had asthma & high BP today but they were as a result of a car crash rather than a direct link to each other!

my asthma wasn't *too* bad but enough for me to need / use my inhaler (something else for the paramedic to keep an eye on LOL)

but my BP was ""dangerously high"" on the first reading - something like 185 / 125, thankfully over time it went down and by the time it was checked in hospital about an hour later it was ""on the high side of normal""

Oh no jinglefairy I hope you're ok!!

Salbutamol can increase blood pressure. When well I am well my bp sits quite happily In the middle of normal, but then increases when struggling. Partly I think struggling puts it up as well as the salbutamol.

i have had some quite impressivly high BPs before! For me they tend to go down fairly quickly once things start getting a bit more controlled!! I guess they might have to treat it if thats not the case :-)
