montelukast question...

I have been on a 4 week trial of montelukast and the cough pretty much vanished :). Was supposed t be reviews on Monday but the asthma nurse was off sick so my appointment was cancelled so haven't had the montelukast since Sunday, and now the coughing is back and lung function going back down again. Was wondering if this is just coincidence or whether its because I'm not taking the montelukast any more. Would appreciate any thoughts/experiences.

Thanks.

The cough could be because of a post nasal drip due to your Montelukast wearing off? Just guessing, my own GP said that sinus infection/allergic rhinitis was partly causing my cough.

I'd contact your GP and explain you are feeling unwell again since you stopped the Montelukast. It seems a bit off just to stop the Montelukast without having had the review?

Good Luck :)
