Really Phlegmy (sorry)

Ever since winter has really kicked in. I've had a lot of phlegm and using my blue reliever at max on days that I leave the house. (Good thing I work from home :P)

Been to my GP & Asthma nurse, who's dismissed it as a recurring cold. Even though the reliever has only had minimal effect. Grr

Anyway come tomorrow I'll be ringing for an appointment, yet again for the Asthma nurse. Good thing I've been keeping track of symptons and inhaler usage. It will be interesting to hear what she has to say this time.

At the very least they should be sending you for a chest x-ray so i'd certainly be mentioning that when you see the nurse.

In fairness the GP I saw was the one I'm registered with. And whom I never book to see. I usually go to a lady GP who saw me through my mild depression, without pills. I think the nurse was just rushed.

Atleast my preventer inhaler has run out, a month short than it should have been. Though they still haven't changed my prescription, so the dates are stupidly long in between. Though I just place the script into the doc's. Though I would have prefered to order repeat prescription's via online.

Personally i'd go to the gp as they can prescribe meds/order x-rays etc (asthma nurse at my surgery cannot do this).

I'd see the nice lady Dr though

UPDATE:

I've seen the doc this morning, and been told to go to the hospital tomorrow for an x-ray. I phoned the hospital to see if I need an appointment, and was told the mornings were the quietest to go. I will then have to return the the GP for a review, though she believes it's my asthma playing up. Which she says she'll take the time between now and then to review, what is the best option for me. So I'll either get a protecter or my preventer will be increased.

I think it's normal to add the protector/laba before increasing the ics dose, she might want to do both and then step one or the other down later on. My chest is always quite phlegmy when uncontrolled, so sounds like this could be you too. Good luck with the xray and review. x
