Morning
I get like that and mine is pretty bad at the mo too. I think its probably due to the feeling of unwell and sometimes using the blue inhaler more makes you feel sick ( or even actually sick as I was on Frdiay!)
Take care and make sure you drinking lots to keep energy up.
thanks riles
my inhaler doesn`t make me feel sick but I am so tired,
I am losing sleep through coughing and not eating much
so have no energy at all
I`ll ask the chemist if there is anything I can take to improve my appetite
yes I have a drink next to me all day, I bought some lucozade to see if that would help
Hi Joan
This may sound like an obvious question so sorry in advance but..... i take it you've been to the Dr's and they've checked your chest for infection etc?
Hope you start to feel better soon and maybe try little food but often as its not so overwhelming when you don't feel fab.
Hugs xxx
i sometimes find if i'm really struggling then simply the effort of trying to co-ordinate breathing & eating makes me not want to eat
i'm afraid i don't know what advice to offer but just thought maybe you're having a similar thing
I lose my appetite when my lungs are really acting up as well so I know the feeling! Really have to remind myself to eat as otherwise I feel worse.
I also lost my appetite during and after swine flu (which kicked all this off) - even though I didn't have a stomach upset or anything with it. I found then that while I didn't want to eat anything really, the only things I could tolerate were slightly sweet and rather bland foods (the complete opposite of what I normally like). I was ok with fruit and was in danger of eating too much of it, but also things like scrambled egg on toast were generally ok - I've found that's a good staple when I don't want to eat, and not too hard to cook.
Hope you feel better soon and get your appetite back!
thanks for all the advice and kind words
no I haven`t been to the docs apart from getting my repeat prescription for my reliever inhaler on saturday
Monday I bought some multivitamins and the kind of food I would normally enjoy and a box of jelly babies for the sugar content
have taken the tablets for 2 days now and made myself eat the food
bit by bit each day my asthma is improving and I`m coughing less so getting more sleep thank goodness
with all the rain we have had I`m just surprised that my asthma has been so bad, as the rain has kept the pollen count down and it is what is outside that cause my asthma
Hi all, just trawling through and found myself nodding in agreement with everything you are saying. I normally love spicy, tasty foods, but at the moment can just about manage a bowl of vegetable soup! I do agree that little and often is best to keep your strength up, and plenty of hot drinks, I have also found that the fizzy
Lucozade makes me cough, so I have turned to the sports version.
I have had asthma for 12 years (after suffering pleuracy) but luckily with almost perfect maintenance until 6 weeks ago, so whilst I have had asthma for a relatively long time, I am very new to all the symptoms and meds, etc.
Joan I called the greenies out the other day and they said that as the rain hit the ground it causes the pollen to break down and bounce back to the air, hence it is still a problem during wet weather.
Best wishes to all.

Hi, now that my asthma is getting worse, I've also lost my apepetite.
I think It's because as we feel the shortness of breathe, our body can't do much effort and while you eat yo have to controll your breathing, you can't just breathe whenever you want.
