Hello,
I’ve recently been diagnosed with asthma and my asthma is not controlled on an inhaled corticosteroid. I’ve also struggled to use the device properly. Has anyone had experience of fixed dose combinations (Seretide and Symbicort I believe they are called) and can anyone recommend devices that are really easy to use?
Hope you can help!
Hannah

Hi everyone!
Thank you so much for responding to my post, I really appreciate it! This is still all a bit daunting to me, so I'm so glad to be talking with people who understand exactly what I'm going through! Sounds like I need to get myself a spacer!!
Just some questions... I've been doing a bit of research into this since being diagnosed, and I'm wondering if anyone has had any experience using MDI's? If so, how did you find those?
A lot of feedback from my post has included Symbicort and Seretide? That's interesting because I read an article yesterday about a new drug coming out that has both of those combined... Has anyone heard anything about that?
Thanks again to those who responded!!

Hi hannah
new to this myself, all still abit daunting meds , symptoms , triggers but it gets easier the more you learn about this disease, ask questions no matter how silly , i always get a answer lol. I used a spacer from day one as suggested by the doc it works for me just practice the technique and you will get it , i have a brown and blue inhaler and i dont think my meds are quite rite yet but i am getting there slowly and starting to feel better good luck .

I've had both symbicort and seretide.
Symbicort, I had a tester whistle to get used to this type of inhaler as its a sharp quick inhale.
Been on it for so long that changing back recently, on asthma nurse's suggestion, to Seretide through a spacer, I'm finding it really difficult to take a puff without sounding the Aerochamber's wee whistle.
Best wishes on getting the knack with either type of inhaler. Ask your GP or asthma nurse to take you through the steps again or look at Lime Green Bar at top of page. All about Asthma is the one to Click.
