Asthma and Tonsilitis

has any one had tonsilitis before and found their asthma went haywire or is there something else bothering it?

I don't really get tonsillitis but I know that my friend with brittle asthma sometimes gets tonsillitis or laryngitis and it invariably seems to trigger a deterioration and an admission. I suppose in the same way as a cold does - any upper respiratory tract infection can trigger it.

I've had tonsilitis a few times this year - but it didn't flare up my asthma.
