Pregnancy and asthma

Not sure if anyone will know the answer to this but thought I would give it a shot anyway.

My friend, who is about 8 mths pregnant, has just been told she has asthma to add to all the other problems she has picked up during the pregnancy.

Does anyone know if the asthma is likely to stick around after the pregnancy?

She's 39 and had a reaction to paint a few yrs back (about 5 i think) that caused her to have to go to the hospital for emergency treatment.

Any advice would be great :o)
