As a very long term board user i come on here to share the very sad news the Rachel Wakefield lost her battle for life yesterday and has now gained her angel wings.

I first met Rachy in the very early days of her illness before she had a full diagnosis of interstitial lung disease when she came on here for support for her asthma -I was then lucky enough to spend time as an in patient with her at the Brompton.

Rachel had a double lung transplant last year and initially did very well but then things went wrong. but throught her illness she remained a very happy smily and thoughtful young lady campaigning endlessly for organ donation and being an ambassador for Live life Then Give Life an amazing charity concerned with organ donation.

I know that many of the board users wouldnt have known Rachy but I still felt that I should share the news as she was such an inspirational woman who has certainly given me the strength to fighht when things have been rough and she will continue to do so.

Rest in Peace Rachel xxxxxx Breath Easy now hun and fly free xxxxx

Rachy was amazing. Such stamina and such grace. Bless her.

Having been one of the fortunate people to have met Rachael, I can honestly say she never stopped smiling. She'll always be in my thoughts and memories.

Love to her parents, Lynn and Phil at this terrible time.
