It used to be shellfish and fish but I could eat anything else. Now I can't eat meat, glutin and am also dairy free. I am fed up of roasted vegetables and glutin free pasta with a tomato sauce. Anyone got any tips for recipes.

Can you eat chuck still???
Kate
Chuck?
Chicken and other feathery fauna!!! LOL
Have you tried doing a search on the internet. There are quite a few useful sites similar to this one
hi bex
Are you ok with gluten free stock cubes? You can get these on prescription in certain areas-couldnt get them at my folks but can get them here for example-also can get them from good supermarkets like sainsburys which have a good gluten free section.
Anyways if you are you can make a vegi stew by mixing all your favorite veg with some lentils chickpeas etc with some water to cover the veg then add your stock cube!
Let it all boil for a while and there you have it vegi stew! If you eat chicken could add some chicken for a bit more variety!
Im a fussy eater too hospital food is a nightmare for me as they can never cater to my needs so im used to trying to think of good recipies on limited ingredients!
Pm me if i can help further but till then hope this helps-you can also blitz this and turn it into a tasty soup!
Take care and good luck. Lv kat Xx
Bex I'll have a think for you, I've had to get creative in the kitchen in the last 8-9 months since being diagnosed with salicylate sensitivity. I understand where you're coming from with being fed up of eating the same dishes.
Oh dear Bex, does this mean an end to the devouring of M&S choc raisins? Or are M&S profits still safe? Never mind think how slim you will be eating so healthily, hmmm still doesn't make up for lack of dairy and meat. Hope you find some yummy receipes, take good care, Lois
Hi bex,
This sounds dreadful. I don't want to teach my grandmother to s... eggs but..
could it be the antibiotics or preservatives added to meat? Have you tried game ie rabbit, venison pheasant etc, but wild not from a farmed source? + if you are that allergic can you get food challenge tests done to find out what you can eat. I really really sympathise. However there are some fantastic indian veggie recipes. Cultivate a gujerati friend. And some great grains that don't have gluten.. have you tried quinoa.. its delicious. Good luck

The problem with meat is breaking down the protiens so trying different types won't help
Everyone knows that M&S Belgium Chocolate Coated Raisens are one of your 5 a day and don't count (they are fruit arn't they)
Bex
I also cannot have much protein as it for some reason plays havoc with my asthma, you can have a small amount of meat but you need to make sure you put it in a blender so it is purad meat as such and then add it too your veg stews. I do not have milk or eggs either. It certainly means you get thinner.
You can have hummous with veg sticks a great snack, or you can have fruit salads. You can buy rice flour (although watch you dont have too much else the protein in that shall be after you) There is loads of different flours like potato flour.
There are so really good receipe books out there for people who are wheat, gluten and milk and egg allergies they are well worth there money, i managed to make lasagne and cheese cake without wheat, gluten, milk and egg and if i used soya mince it could have been vegarian too. You could make home made soups, they do gluten free corn flour too. Sainburys free from range is good as is morrisons if you go to big stores!
If you need any more ideas please pm
Plumie
can you eat Quorn?
OK so no chuck!
Tin toms, onions, herbs, lentils, beans etc - make a staple base for all sorts. (Rattatouille)
Rice is a good alternative to pasta. Quinoa is a good staple and a good sourse of protein but check. Buckwheat & its flour (Buckwheat is a sedge!) . Chickpea or gram flour, Millett (budgie seed) Cornmeal (polenta - yellow or Maize meal [Ugali] - white)
Are you OK with eggs cos that will help with some gluten free recipes.
Tofu? Good source of soya protein.
Try pancakes made with gluten free flour, soya milk and Allergycare Vegan whole egg replacer. Use more flour that usual for recipe to make it thick. add bicarb if non self raising gluten free flour. Works a treat!
Custard - use more custard powder with soya milk to make it thick.
Brocc or cauliflour cheese - use soya milk, corn flour, dolop of marg to make a creamy sauce, add touch of mustard to taste.
some tips for starters.
There might be some helpful ideas on salicylatesensitivity.com/r... there iare some nice filling soups on there which might be a possibility for you?
As you know my family are a wheat, dairy nut egg free nightmare!
TREATS!
Sainsburys do kinnerton cooking chocolate dairy free and celtic chocs do a box of allergy free chocs for a treat, also gluten free dairy free smartie things called whizzers from health food shop!
Provamel Alpro soy soya choc puds are not bad but the swedish glace ice cream has some wierd flavours and we avoid!!
Soya cheese also big YUCK in this house.
Main courses -
For instant no cooking safe to eat korma sauces soup etc are nice chucked over any veg and Plamil? and Mayola do a dairy wheat egg free mayonaise that you can mix with stuff to improve flavour Ogran do a wheat free gluten free licorice too although that may not be good for bowel!!
Recipes
I think the vegetarian society/vegan has a searchable recipe website for cooking ideas and inspiration will double check and post later.
Kallo stock cubes- some are gluten free some aren't be very careful of the labelling.
Marmite
Thanks for all the hints etc. I have not heard I have to avoid eggs yet...
Anyone found a substitute for milk, I used to drinks pints of the stuff and the soya stuff I tried was dire. Pity cos the yoghurts and flavoured milk drinks from Alpro are Ok.
Bex
In my experience rice milk is better than soya milk. And I also had some stuff called lactofree at one point that I didn't think was too horrendous. Think it's a case of horses for courses. Some people like different types/brands.

hi bex
On the soya milk front provamel do a milk sweetened with apple juice which i found tasted exactly like normal cows milk! Its in a green carton! Failing that have you tried that lacto-free milk? Its supposed to be good though i haven't tried it yet!
Good luck lv kat Xx
