Sorry, I didn't have this experience. I think the drug you tested for is the one I had as a trial (Novartis?). I'm sorry you've been knocked back. Did they tell you any more than that?

I was told I wasn't suitable - my levels were in the thousands - can't remember where though. Which is a bit of a shame really. Nevermind. C'est la vie!

My cons is trying to Xolair past the pharmacy board at our hossie right now BUT is also trying to get a trial drug he's part researching also passed the board!

Stupid bureacorsoy (sp?) can be a pain but given the situation with NHS debt perhaps right now these things do need to be so strictly regulated!

To make sure those who will benefit from it get it!

But I do know for Xolair there are SET levels you have to be between (I believe) to even have your name put forward with it being named patient only!

My IGE levels are sky high too but i have just come to the end of my 16 week trial on xolair. It has been mildly sucessfull as it has kept me out of costa for the last 8 weeks apart from a day and half a couple of weeks ago but when i was in i got better a lot quicker as im usually in every couple of weeks for a couple of weeks!

Even though im not feeling so good at the moment it has managed to keep me out of costa.

Keep smiling!

Kym

I meet the criteria to have xolair but theres no funding in my pct(?) area to pay for it so noone gets it.

The respiratory consultants have put a case forward with the criteria but it's been turned down and as they've frozen recruitment to even nurses posts cos the trust being in so much debt there's not much chance of it being approved anytime soon so i'm stuck on high dose pred but at least i know when i end up in there will be nurses to look after me i suppose!

marmite

there was no funding for me but my con ranted and raved about it as i nearly died a couple of times so i think that was wot changed their mind!

Good luck

Kym :-)
