OK, I was looking over my discharge summary earlier and noticed something odd in the Diagnosis section. Instead of Asthma, it said ^^Asthma, and this threw me a bit as I was wondering whether the ^^ was a typo or a new bit of medical coding that I was missing the point of.
It's a new one on me, was there any relevent text above it? could it me see explanation above? It's the only thing I can think of. Sorry I'm not much help.
I'm imagining it was probs a typo or glitch on the form - its not a medical abbreviation or code i've ever come across!
Two delta (triangle) symbols is differential diagnosis (and one is diagnosis). Would that make sense here?
Thats reassuring, I looked up what it meant, and it makes sense as there was a screening for a chest infection, but it was good to know that my asthma is now recognised by, of all people, my old consultant. Am not scared to bump in to him now as he is actually pretty caring and nice
