I decided to make a new topic, as I need some help. I last saw my asthma nurse around 3/4 weeks ago, and got put on easi-breathes as I wasn't taking my inhalers on the ventolin-type ones.
However, I have recentley noticed, I have been getting more out of breath, coughing, and chest pains. I decided to get a peak flow meter to help control my asthma, as it was badly out of control. Yet, it's either dropping, or never going above 360, yet it's meant to be 400.
My main question though, is do you have any advice to help ease the symptoms, as they are really annoying me now! hehe!
Tasha-if ure symptoms are getting worse you should Go back and see either your asthma nurse or GP because it is a sign that your asthma is not well controlled.
Asthma UK's forums are for debate and discussion. Especially, they are not a suitable place to obtain medical advice in an emergency. If you feel unwell or need advice in an emergency situation, help should be obtained from one of the following sources:
Your local GP service - either your surgery, or, if closed, the local out-of-hours centre; some regions also have NHS Walk-In Centres
NHS Direct - a nurse-led advice line which can provide medical advice, or call an ambulance if needed - telephone 0845 46 47
Dialling 999 for an emergency ambulance, or by going to your local Accident & Emergency department.
Asthma UK's own guidance for what to do in an asthma attack
Any posts made requesting emergency advice will be removed so as to avoid causing upset to other message board users.
If you are struggling and your Blue inhaler / reliever is not working You need to get help! We can't physically see you here and it would be inapropriate to advise you what to do.
Kate
Thanks Kate - much appreciated.
Tasha, Kate is right - we're in no place to offer this kind of medical advice - you need to be seen and assessed properly by a health professional. Please make an appointment to see your GP or asthma nurse, or refer to the text of Kate's message which details how to get help in an emergency.
