How can i clear the gunk

Hi, ive just had an acute attack (was in hospital tuesday night) and have contracted another chest infection, but am coughing up lots of gunk which is embarrassing in public.

any ideas how i can clear the gunk out so i dont cough as much?

Sorry to hear you have been poorly.

Sometimes if people are very gunky they can use certain physio techniques to try to clear the mucous somewhat. Obviously it's a bit difficult to describe them without demonstrating, and, without knowing more about you, I wouldn't know if it would be sae for you to use them or not. May be worth asking a local friendly health pro? Some people find steam inhalations are helpful to loosen things up a bit, too.
