There is this girl at my school and she has two inhalers that she carries with her (Pe and exams etc.). She has a bricanyl turbohaler and a slabutamol sulphate. Why does she need to carry both of them? Just curious that's all.

Hello Bobby,
Bricanyl and salbutamol (Ventolin) although two different types of drug do exactly the same thing - open the airways.
I don't think doctors prescribe them both in Inhaler form to be used at the same time. It should be one or the other. ( Med peeps - please correct me if wrong) I am not sure if using them both has any extra benefit.

Some people respond better to one or the other, but no, I can't think of any reason why someone would be on both.
Different doctors do different things but I've never heard of this one before.

It is really wierd and she uses both at the same time. I should ask her but i don't want to offend her. She makes a big deal out of her asthma but that might be her way of coping with it. Hmmmm....mystery!
