Strange symptoms!

I seem to find that just before my asthma gets bad I need to pee alot and or get really thirsty, just wondering if anyone else gets either of these?

My bad is not that bad, but have been having a flare-up recently (please montelukast, start working!) and did notice last Saturday, which was near the beginning of the flare-up, that I kept needing the loo! Maybe coincidence, but thought I'd mention it since you asked.

am definately not an expert on this, so please anyone feel free to correct me, but needing to pee a lot is a problem with diabetes or kidney problems, both of wich can be aggravated by steroids, if you take them? the only thing i can suggest is to mention it to your GP next time you see them. hope all goes well.

I was going to say what Rose said - if it is after you start steroids then it could be an affect of the steroids. They can make you need to pee more, or if they give you thrush that would also make you think you need the loo.

If it is not related to steroids could it be that mouth breathing is making your more thirsty?

Urine infections can make you pee more too, stess can cause cystitis so maybe the stress of asthma could cause it?!?!

I never thought of these symptoms being caused by an infection or steroid induced, they usually come on just before an asthma flare up or chest infection but before starting pred, so I don't think it's steroid induced, but I might have a chat with my doctor just to make sure nothing else is going on, thanks for the replys.
