I had kenalog injections today and since i've got home i've had like a deep muscular pain that sort of radiates from my hip area to my knees, has anybody else experienced this? Or have any ideas as to what it could be? I haven't done anything strenuos today ...
Sorry can't be of more help, I had my second shot of kenalog this week on tuesday and like you am having unusual symptoms which I can't really put down to anything else.
Not sure where you had your injection, but I was advised (thanks Wheezer!!) to have it standing up as it would be less painful and this certainly helped in the begining. I don't have the severe pain you have but just feel achey and exhausted like you do when you are coming down with something. Would be interested to see how long it takes for the situation to be resolved. This was the main thing about being on kenalog that concerned me .Once you 've had the injection you are stuck with it till it wears off which I was advised was about 6 weeks.
For muscle pain have you tried heat or cold?, I've been told previously that sometimes one is more effective than the other. The other thing that may help would be massage but the area may be too painful to tolerate this or may be too impractical for you to do it yourself.
Let me know how you get on and hopefully it will soon disappear. I looked at the patient leaflet for kenalog but most of the common side effects seem to be the same as those for pred. hope you feel better soon.
Take care
Rabbit
Thanks for you reply Rabbit :o)
I took some co-codamol last night and had a hot bath which seemed to ease it, today I have the achey coming down with something feeling too.
Out of interest how long are they keeping you on kenalog for? and how often are you being jabbed?
