I have not used it myself but I have seen it done a lot at hospital where I work. Chest physios seem to advocate it for patients with pneumonia and alike.

I use saline nebs to de-gunk and they work well.

We use them at work for patients struggling to clear their mucous. It works well.

I used them when mucus difficult to shift but have to be very carefull as like other severe asthmatics it can cause broncospasm andtherefore make you worse.

But do help when can tollorate em

The physio's at rbh have mentioned saline is beneficial for clearing gunk but Sean's docs at Rbh have always said no way as they worried he will have bronchospasm.

I can't use then cos of bronchospasam, having experienced it once I don't want to go there again... Not recommended for those with hyp[er-sensitive lungs apparently.
