Go REM.

Got a huge soft spot for REM for something lovely they said and did at the Millenium Stadium 2 days after the 7/7 London bombings. Having been caught up in that, it was quite emotional evening. I will never forget that.

This time, as always for REM, it is another reasonably priced event. They stand out against so many other acts that rip their fans off.

Managed to get tickets a while ago for their one-off at the Royal Albert Hall on 24 March, also reasonably priced. Anyone else going to that one?

OK- favourite REM concerts:

Milton Keynes 1985 (?)-a bill of artists that included U2,the Ramones, Billy Bragg-horrible day ,but the music was great !!

Edinburgh Playhouse-""Green "" tour, the first venue I had ever been to that allowed you to take your drink to your seat

Newcastle City Hall-same tour, front row seat-Stipe read my programme while he was singing "" Its the end of the world as we know it ""-bizzare !

Stirling Castle 1999-another miserably wet night and our ""refreshments"" were confiscated outside the Esplanade which didnt bode well, but they were terrific!

Lancashire Cricket Ground June 2005-a testiment to REM,s genius is that they managed to make the somewhat bland ""Around The Sun"" tracks sound fresh and almost muscular-fair smattering of Evertonians in the crowd to swap banter with, and a fine drunken singalong through the lakes on the way back before the back wheel of our hire van caught fire near Keswick !

_oh happy days !!!
