A little bit of random silliness, but I thought it could be fun.
Remember all the things your mother/ grandmother used to say when you were a child to stop you doing things. Old wives tales and such. I was wondering which ones other people were told.
One I was always told was ""don't pick your nose, your brain will fall out!""
or ""If you sit to close to the telly, you will get square eyes.

My Gran had some wonderful phrases -
You'll have your head and your hands to play with!
Her? She's got a slate aff her garret and two hingin'.
Mind you don't smile or you'll crack the enamel. (on folk who wore a lot of make up).
'What's the magic word?' (ie encouraging the use of please/thankyou). I still use it on my son (and husband) and sometimes they use it on me!!
Dont sing at the dinner table... U invite the devil in .... Meant u would have bad luck !!!
Another Scottish one ""I'll take my hand off your face!""........erm.....I wouldn't mind the hand being removed.....it would be the application at speed that I objected to!
