try your pharmacy they were very helpful when I stopped smoking 4 years ago, there are all sorts of products that you can try, just make sure you don't use nicotine patches cause they have side effects, I found that nicotine mints really helped me, but make sure you talk to your doctor first x

All nicotine replacement therapies can have side effects - they're not confined to patches, and many people use patches without any problems at all. It's a matter of finding a product that works for you.

Red, you can also ask the nurse at your surgery - many practices now have a nurse-led clinic that deals with stopping smoking and you can get patches, gum etc on prescription.

sorry Red, I worded that badly, but good luck with giving up

thank u it not for me is for my mum we are trying her to give up and i just want to get some stuff 4her

go to boots, they have free packets on how to stop smoking, at least some of the stores do, ive seen them many times. It is like a stop smoking kit

Good luck to you mum, i know how hard it can be to quit smoking, but it should make a real difference to the whole family. from izzi
