Here's the bit where I admit to watching corrie!!!
Let Fizz go for heaven's sake. Then maybe we wouldn't have to put up with her constant whinging
Dave(London Accents R Us- Ealing Division)
Note: my wife is from Manchester so I'd better be careful what I say.
I don't know what you are talking about (Corrie storyline??) but I agree with whatever Glynis says. :))
Corrie? Wozzat?
shes done a crime so let her do the time..........
Annista - it's Coronation Street. Don't know who Fizz is (apart from a Tweenie called Fizz) but free her anyway cos Glynis says so.
Ah, I've heard of Coronation Street and I might even have watched it once ...........
I confess that I thought at first that 'free fizz' meant that I could get a bottle of champagne for nothing and I'm very proud that I didn't fall into a trap of my own making and ask how to get it.
Anyway, by all means free Fizz, because if it's ok with the rest of you it's ok with me.
haha I thought it was a joke about free champagne too Annista!
Don't think I've ever seen Corrie, not really a soap fan.
Must admit I used to watch nearly all the soaps - EastEnders, Corrie, Neighbours and Brookside. I weaned myself (and hubby) off all but Neighbours about 7 years ago, and stopped watching Neighbours when it went over to Channel 5. Think my favourite was probably Brookside.
heehee oops also thought it was 'free fizz' too
Thank heavens I'm not alone in thinking I'd get free booze! I'm not a soap watcher now (although I do occasionally watch Casualty - does that count?) but when I was very little and had to go to bed at 7:30 it was my ambition to see Coronation Street (in black and white) because my elder sister kept telling me how wonderful it was. I can still remember my dissapointment when I was finally allowed to stay up and see it and it was about 3 old laides in a pub drinking stout!
hehe, siblings are evil - is this the same sister who shut you in the cupboard, Annista? Was that you or am I mixing you up with someone?
I actually do have a bottle of fizz in my fridge which I will never drink because I can't tolerate alcohol (I love cocktails but they hate me). Not sure what to do with it, would be happy to share with people on here if it were practical (if I could I'd save it to share with you all at a time, hopefully soon, when people who are really struggling like Snowy and Emma are off ventilators and well on the road to recovery).
Philomena, you're absolutely right, this is the same sister who used to shut me in the cupboard. Fancy you remembering that! She did have a bit of a mean streak but it's forgiven now (even if not forgotten!)and anybody who need some advice on how to mess with thier little sister's head can call me for ideas!
As for the champagne, I saw wotzisname, oh, Essex Boy, make a wonderful champagne strawberry jelly. He put several strips of gelatine into water to soften and packed a jelly mould full of strawberries, then poured a bottle of champagne into another bowl, added the gelatine, gave it a stir and poured into the mould and put it all into the fridge. Dead simple. You could earn yourself the title of best hostess in town.
If only I could remember his name ......
Ha! Jamie Oliver. I knew I'd get it as soon as I submitted the post!
EDIT: Sorry Glynis, bit of a thread hijack by me here. Free Fizz!
Annista, I have the most bizarre memory - it picks up all sorts of things which can be quite embarrassing sometimes when it's the sort of thing no-one else remembers (geeky trivia etc). I quite wish I had a little sister to torment though, I always fancied being an older rather than a younger sibling though appreciate that my brother was pretty nice to me.
I will have to bear that recipe in mind - I'm vaguely planning some form of 'summer' party but currently too knackered to think about it. Being a hostess is very exhausting and you have to clear up afterwards - how nice would magic clear-up fairies be?
Trying to psych myself up to make it to Boots without collapsing in a heap, or I'll run out of essentials. Need the fairies again...
Philomela your welcome and making me laugh xxx
sad to admit but im a soap viewer (oh i miss brookie ) well glynis -fiz did break the law so she should be sent to jail lol...
Jay39 - pleased to hear there is another Brookie fan. I absolutely loved Brookie and even used to watch the weekend omnibus. Do you remember Terry? - he had very short curly hair and used to get into all sorts of scrapes. I was shocked to hear the actor who played him fell on hard times after the show and was arrested recently on suspicion of attempted murder...very bizarre. I'll always think of him as nice Terry, unlucky in love.
Sorry, nothing to do with Fizz. What did she do Glynis??
angievere - alllreet allreet calm down calm down lol....just read about him, apparently he shot someone in the head when the guy was leaving a pub. he always seemed lovely when he was interviewed - just goes to show how far people can slump, very sad x
Talking of soaps, what do people think of David Essex in Eastenders? He still has that twinkle! lol. I used to have a crush on him when I was about 13 and he was 28... Oh the years do fly!
Sorry glynis to go off at a tangent, I thought it was free champagne too xxx
Aaah, David Essex. He was in a play in a nearby theatre and I was talking to someone who'd been to the play. She said 'David Essex was meant to be in it but he wasnt'. Turned out she just hadnt recognised him because he's aged so much. She couldnt believe it was him!
JF - my sister had a big crush on him for many years too. She's quite upset at how he's aged and said she couldnt bear to see him anymore. Poor guy, hope he's not reading this!! Still, he cant be doing too bad if he's got onto EastEnders!!
Edit. Free Fizz
Angievere, fortunately my sister and I had been to see him in concert twice in the last 15 - 20 years so had seen him ageing over time but, I still struggle to see him as the same person lol. I hope he's in EE for a while.
JF - he was SO gorgeous wasnt he?? Think my sister saw him in the original Evita and fell in love then! Is he any good in EE?
I saw him on TV quite recently and you're right, he hasn't aged well. On the other hand, the eyes are still full of mischief and wickedness, so all isn't lost!
Oh, sorry Glynis, free Fizz!
Hmm, older pics of David Essex not bad but he def hasn't aged well judging by the more recent ones!
On other news...welease Woger! (sorry, I just couldn't resist ;))
I think he is really good in EE, a bit of a 'not so perfect' past too... I might be biased though.
