Any advice

Hi,

My son, Jonathan (19 months) has had a cough now since he was a matter of days old. He was originally on a blue inhaler 1 puff 4 times a day (only after many trips to the dr), this worked for a few months, then they gave him a steriod inhaler which is 2 lots twice a day to go with it, again this work well and then when we saw the Asthma nurser at the GPs aprox 2 weeks ago she said drop the blue to unless he really needs it. This was going ok and the a few days ago he started getting his cough at night again. I've tried giveing him his blue inhaler as well as his steriiod and he's still coughing. it's driving me nuts. I just want to get a good nights sleep. The only thing that works for a while is to give him a drink.

Any ideas as to what I could do.

My daughter suffers badly at times with the night time cough - if this happens i know she needs to be seen by either the asthma nurse or GP.

It may well be worth getting your son checked out.

Have you tried giving the blue inhaler to your son just before he goes to bed and when he wakes coughing?

Have you raised the head end on the bed as is the cough is caused by nasal symptoms thsi helps(phone directories are good for this!)

Hope this helps.
