Awaiting hysteroscopy results

TVS showed thickened endometrium 11 m I have now had a hysteroscopy and the surgeon said looked normal and he has sent a biopsy, I wondered if this means that it is unlikely to be anything to worry about as would my endometrium look normal if there was a problem.

Hello,

Thank you for getting in touch with Ask Eve.

You are receiving gold standard care and your team is following best practice. By what you have told us about your endometrium, it is only just over the limit in accordance to guidance from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists for performing the appropriate tests. It is reassuring that your surgeon couldn't see anything , this is called macroscopic view, it is now important to see the microscopic findings from the biopsy.

If you would like confidential advice by email or phone then please do contact our Eve Appeal nurse specialist a ring on 0808 802 0019 or email nurse@eveappeal.org.uk

Wishing you well,

The Eve Team

Thank you for your reply, having been without periods at 52 for over 2 years it was a worry to have a bleed than the TVS showed I needed a hysteroscopy so I am hoping that it is all done with now.

Hi Zogem,

Could we suggest that you contact the department where you had your hysteroscopy and biopsy and ask them how you will receive your results.

There may have been a slight delay due to the festive period or possibly the results may have been sent directly to your GP.

We hope that you'll receive reassuring results shortly, but please do contact our Eve Appeal nurse specialist if you'd like to talk about this worry in confidence on 0808 802 0019 or email nurse@eveappeal.org.uk.

Wishing you well,

The Eve Team
