Basically it says you have nothing really serious wrong, but a number of little niggly things ,that would be causing you pain.
You will have to get your consultant to chat with you about all these problems, and what he/ she can do about them.
The medication you are taking is quite a lot and certainly should be more effective.
A lot of pain management is now looking at the psychological aspects--- and talking about " leaning into the pain"-- that is accepting the pain and treating it almost as a friend -- resting and excersizing.
I know that's not what you want to hear--- but it's the way things are going.
Thank you . It's some times unreal how you can have so much pain and not see a reason. Iv done pain management and so meany classes like I say I'm out of options .but will carrier on regardless xxx huggs x
I’d agree with madlegs1, that the mri doesn’t really show any serious issues. You have a few discs that are dehydrated or have slipped, but are not pressing on the cord. Normally for this kind of finding, they would suggest physio. Was this mri orders by a rheumatologist?, I ask as they usually do MRIs on a stir setting which highlights inflammation. If you’ve suffered since your teens, it’s possible it could be an inflammatory arthritis. I too suffered years of backpain, till 4yrs into attending rheumatology, a different dr felt I had more than polymyalgia going on. Turned out I had ankylosing spondylitis, my sacroiliac joints and ribs were fused, as I’d had it undiagnosed for approximately 25yrs. I was urgently started on biologic therapy to slow further progression. A normal mri suppresses inflammation, as they’re looking for structural damage. I’m not saying you do have an inflammatory arthritis, just that it’s worth considering. Doing gentle stretches is one of the main parts of treatment for both inflammatory arthritis and slipped discs. The pain going down to the foot, sounds like sciatica from the sciatic nerve being compressed, but usually improves with physio 🤗
