Just my luck. Due to go on holiday Friday but my knee has decided to give me hell. Literally getting out of a chair it's agony - so have to keep my leg straight. Bending it is very very difficult though I can walk reasonably ok.I really wanted to get some heat My knee won't be replaced until the autumn at least, and this was a good chance for a break and I've been coping ok with pain and rest.
Has anyone else travelled with knee pain..? The flight is 4 hours.

I travelled to New Zealand on 2 different occasions before my knee was replaced…. in fact second time was only a couple of months before operation… although I’m not sure I could have managed it if I’d travelled cattle class .. although I did on a couple of internal flights once there, but they were only an hour or so… .
Just keep moving as much as you can.. and take painkillers…
Tnx .. likewise not in economy so there's plenty of comfort on offer. The other half really does need this break as well but it's very easy just to roll over and stay in bed ! I ll try to stay focused and get on the plane .
Enjoy as much as you can… and a change of scenery will help.. and make sure you request special assistance at airport, makes life so much easier, for you and your OH…
exact same thing happened to me last year. We were due to fly to Lanzarote on 30th September, I was working the day before and out of nowhere came a flair up. I managed to drive home, called work and did all the usual stuff, I’ve, rest etc but by next morning there was no improvement.
Anyway, we went, the flight was pretty painful, and getting through the airport was too.
I found relief from standing in the swimming pool, the cool water seemed to help. I couldn’t get any comfort on a sunbed because my knee was fixed slightly bent and I couldn’t straighten it. My wife was fetching getting lotions and potions from the pharmacist and I spent the first five days just trying to get the swelling and pain down to a point where I could get around a bit. I’m not sure if the heat and sun helped it or hindered it tbh, I seemed to get more comfort in the cold water.
I’ve not really been anywhere since, the whole experience did put me off tbh, although if my next injection gives me a bit of relief I might try to go again.
