Knee - Replacement

After two telephone appointments that didn’t happen with the Orthopaedic team at my hospital in London.. I was texted to go get xrayed.. for an up to date picture of my knee

Then - yesterday (Sunday) i got a call from one of the consultants advising that he d be happy to operate and replace my knee. They ll arrange a face to face appointment in the next weeks and will then run through the process. He’s said I will need to lose weight and should ask GP for referral to NHS Weight Management which will do. Am extremely happy as if nothing else the procedure will be done at the location I wanted using Mako robot technology (?)

Beyond that it’s still holding up pain wise. My Rheumatologist thinks that may be in part due to my fortnightly RA injection of Adalimumab which might have a crossover benefit- it certainly has put my RA into remission at the moment.

So hopefully I ll be able to do this procedure in the not too distant future.

Paul
