Both my knees are in need of full replacement. I'm only in my early 50's and want to delay surgery as long as I can. The Orthopaedic Dr I saw yesterday agreed and will give me injections into the knees and also knee splints.
Do any of you use splints for your knees? How do you find them? Can they be worn over thin clothes like leggings or do they always have to be on the skin?Do they help you?
Any advice gratefully accepted thank you

Why do you want to wait? If the pain is bad enough and can be relieved by a relatively routine surgery, what’s the point? I only ask, as like you, I felt the same way at basically the same age. I ABSOLUTELY HATED the replacements and though have since had two additional joint replacements, yet the post replacement relief to the constant, horrific joint pain in both legs is so worth it.
I have also had both hips replaced and the subsequent pain relief is wonderful. Anyway, no judgement intended, just my point of view. Take care!
