Ive set up my mountain bike in house with a stand, cycling about 10km a day, doing abs strengthening routine. My mobility has improved immensely . Great for winter/ lockdown. Before Xmas I was in right state with pain. This set up has made a huge difference.

So moving is better for it than not moving?
Yes, for sure, walking is good, provided the pain allows of course!
This gives some exercises thst can be done indoors - eoemskservice.nhs.uk/docs/d...
OK, thank you 😊
Hi, Walking for me puts my lower back out, ive gone from still light jogging in April last year , to unable walk down the stairs without severe pain before Xmasand getting up from bed or chair painful. However cycling indoors and abs challenge , have been brilliant. I just wanted to say something , in case it helps someone. Ive avoided taking pain relief , unless its really bad. But since the activities , no pain relief needed. Walking any distance is still the an issue for me. Ive ordered an electric bike adaption, which will improve outdoor hill cycling.
Does the cycling take pressure off the hips?
Yes , i believe so. a friend does a lot outdoor cycling( to work and fun) he cycled a lot before surgery ( his surgery was 2 yrs ago) Getting on / off bike is my hardest bit, but cycling indoors on a stand, I do 10 km whilst watching bit tv, whatever the weather. upping the levels and speed. but easy to do too much and get stiff, hence finding indoor easier to monitor. I have a watch linked to cadence on bike , so proper work out set up.
Has anyone tried one of the under desk bikes? It was trying to get in my bike last year when I realized I must have hip problems....thought I’d fall into two pieces! I want to be as strong as I can be going into surgery....whenever that may be.
